GITAIR — the guitar companion manual
GITAIR is an AI companion for guitarists: an interactive fretboard, AI chord and tab generation, a scale finder, live pitch/chord detection from your mic, ear training, MIDI, a tuner, and a stack of practice drills. This manual walks the feature pages. Most require a subscription.
What GITAIR is
A web workbench for learning and playing guitar — theory, ear, and hands all in one place, with AI doing the heavy lifting on chords, tabs and scales, and your microphone closing the loop with live detection.
Fretboard
The interactive SVG fretboard: overlay scales and chords, hear notes (Karplus-Strong synthesis), and see the shapes across the neck. The canvas the rest of the app hangs off.
Progressions & Scales
Progressions generates AI chord progressions by genre and mood. Scales is a scale finder that ranks scales by how well they fit what you give it — the "what can I play over this?" answer.
Listen & Tuner
Listen does real-time pitch and chord detection from your mic or DI — play, and it tells you what you played. Tuner is a chromatic tuner with tuning presets.
Ear training & Tabs
Ear training runs drills with progress tracking to build recognition; Tabs is the AI tab generator — turn an idea into notation.
Practice modes & MIDI
A deep bench of practice drills — jam, licks, bends, sixths, ladder, call-and-response and more —
plus a MIDI controller with session recording, and a diagram editor
whose creations you can share by link (/d/…).
